Our Founders – Mack & Zoe

TEAM-WORKS Foundation was founded  in 2002 by Mack Strong, retired professional football player, and  with his wife Zoë Higheagle Strong, a Nez Perce Tribal member.  Together, with Mack’s numerous years as a highly accomplished professional athlete, Zoë’s background in nonprofit management and educational psychology, and collaboration with experts in youth education, they created the unique youth development program: StrongMind, StrongBody and StrongCharacter©. By pairing consistent mentoring with the three-part curriculum, youth are empowered to see their value in the community, think critically about their future, and develop necessary skills to successfully pursue their potential. Working with students from at-risk communities is Mack and Zoe’s greatest passion. They volunteer countless hours of their time and energy to expand the TEAM-WORKS Foundation and its programs to reach Seattle’s most under-served youth.
